The obvious inspiration is Frank Frazetta's "Cat Girl" painting. That's a very beautiful painting and by far the highest achievement of the "sexy woman with wild animals" genre of fantasy art, but its menacing undertones bother me a lot these days. Even in the best picture of its kind sensuality and animality are portrayed as dark, dangerous, distant things. I love furry art because it does the opposite and potrays them as enjoyable and down to earth things. So I wanted to make a similar painting conveying this brighter kind of mood which I feel is the distinctive trait of furry art.
