This was a visual idea I had that I find difficult to categorize in spite of it being quite simple. Is it pain/torture porn? Is it horror? A poor taste “ironic” take on the Crucifixion? A matter-of-fact depiction of an exhibit you could find in a natural history museum on an alternate Earth? A bizarre art performance? Should you believe the “volunteer” label? Is this image pure nonsense that’s not worth asking further questions about?
My imagination thrives on this kind of ambiguity. In fact, it’s whole point of making art for me, and it is intrinsic to any attempt at a realistic depiction of an anthropomorphic animal.
