FURRY ART

Furry art is anthropomorphic animal art that takes on an identity building purpose for adults. Since the main distinction of furry art lies in its meaning to each character’s creator, it’s often hard to tell it apart from other works featuring anthro animals. It may even be cryptic on purpose sice it is ultimately art about the incommunicable, the unstated, the dangerously personal. All sorts of disparate elements converge into it: life experiences, dreams, hobbies, cultural heritage, childhood memories, porn tropes, pop culture references. Furry art often features fursonas (personal avatars) whose design choices may be hard to rationalize, and yet they can communicate very effectively to those who get the coding.

Several works that I put in other categories also fit the definition above, but I’ve gathered here the most exquisitely furry ones. All of these are commission works.
